Okay, before we get this blog chat going I must give credit to my webmaster, Joy. What a fabulous job she has done on the Avoca Book Club’s new look. Thanks a ton Woman!!! We are a group who shares a passion for reading and talking about the books we read. Joy and I are always researching for a new author or a new book to keep our brains wired. Which, really means we both lose a lot of sleep trying to stay caught up with the stack of books we both sport at home.
Sometimes we are in competition to see who can read more or get a particular book finished. Joy and I are definitely two peas in a pod when it comes to our favorites and or finding a new author to read. We can almost read each others minds some days. Spooky, we know! We have a few other crazy gals in our group who love to read too and share a meal, a glass of wine and book chatter each month. We all read different genres but that is where the fun part comes because this way we are sharing new authors with the group.
Now I am so nutty about chatting about books that I joined an on-line group to chat with more woman who are just as crazed and nutty as I am. It feels like home when I leave messages with my new friends who live all over the United States and Canada. I am truly blessed to have so many fun characters to share my love of reading. Hope you tune in each week to see what is new and definitely each month to see which next great book our club will be reading.
You will notice that I tend to promote our library as our home away from home. Not everyone can run out and buy every book that comes out, but one can always visit the public library. I love walking into a library and smelling the books as much as going into a bookstore. They are both very calm tranquil spots in my heart. . “That’s what Hermione does.
